The best quick and easy Xbox completions

Fed up with quick completions that are awful to play? Here are some great Xbox games that also happen to offer some quick and easy achievements, so you can have a good time while watching your Gamerscore grow.

Our weekly Quick Completions articles are usually filled with, let’s say, some less-than-stellar video games, and we’re often asked for some decent quick completions that are actually fun to play, rather than just Gamerscore fodder. Below, we’ve curated a list of quick and easy game completions using a mix of TA community ratings and our own favourites to bring you numerous quick completions that not only offer that endorphin-filled rush you get from popping a load of achievements in a relatively short time, but also a rewarding gameplay experience in six hours or less.

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass or a PC Game Pass subscriber and you’re looking for an easy way to boost your Gamerscore, check out our Game Pass easy achievements and PC Game Pass easy achievements articles, though there is some crossover here.

The Artful Escape

The Artful Escape

The Artful Escape is an adventure game that’s filled with bizarre aliens, psychedelic sci-fi worlds, and some of the sickest guitar solos the galaxy has ever seen. You play as Francis Vendetti, the nephew of a legendary folk singer who is struggling to carve out his own musical identity in the world. To inspire his on-stage persona, Francis sets out on an interdimensional journey through the Cosmic Extraordinary, where he does battle against music-loving aliens and performs for billions on an intergalactic scale. The Artful Escape is a fantastic game, with simple ‘Simon Says’ gameplay, a sublime soundtrack, and excellent voice acting from a star-studded cast. It’s also an easy completion, with its 12 achievements that can be unlocked in around four hours. You might not need it, but we do have a well-liked The Artful Escape walkthrough (written by ComicKaze23), which will guide you through popping each achievement as you play.

Firewatch

Carousel

Adventure game Firewatch is the first of two ‘walking simulators’ (a term that is often used negatively but not in this case!) on this list. You play as Henry, who has just taken on a new job as a fire lookout in the deep wilderness of Wyoming. After a short while keeping an eye on the forest and being set tasks by Delilah, another fire lookout from a distant watchtower, strange things start to happen, and Henry takes it upon himself to wander further out into the wilderness and investigate. Firewatch has a gorgeous visual art style and a gripping story but has been criticised for its ending. Unlocking all of Firewatch’s achievements shouldn’t take longer than five hours, though you may need to follow hypobonix‘s excellent Firewatch walkthrough to pop some of the more obscure achievements.

Donut County

18/12/2018 - Carousel

Donut County is a game where you play as a racoon who uses a remote-controlled hole to swallow everything — donuts, bicycles, cars, people, houses — nothing is off-limits. Donut County is similar to a Katamari game; every time your hole swallows something, it grows larger, which allows you to stuff bigger and more interesting things into it. It’s a simple premise for a game that works remarkably well, and the writing is pretty funny too. It shouldn’t take you more than a couple of hours to unlock all 20 of Donut County’s achievements as they all have pretty simple requirements. However, if you do get stuck or just want to make things easier for yourself, be sure to check out and follow Fluke939‘s well-rated Donut County walkthrough.

Minit

Minit

Minit is an excellent and incredibly engaging little adventure title. You play as a small creature who sadly dies after sixty seconds and respawns back at the start of the game. Stuck in this time loop, you have to explore the surrounding area to find out why this keeps happening, but there is only so far you can get with such a strict time limit. Thankfully, the items you pick up can be carried into your next life and shortcuts can be unlocked to get you across the map quicker. Minit requires a couple of playthroughs to complete, has a few missable achievements, and one very-specific time/date achievement. It can be completed in three hours, but we highly recommend that you follow wizzardSSMinit walkthrough.

MINIT

MINIT

Minit is a peculiar little adventure played sixty seconds at a time. Journey outside the comfort of your home to help unusual folk, uncover countless secrets, and overcome dangerous foes, all in hopes of lifting a rather unfortunate curse that ends each day after just one minute. Minit is a collaboration between Kitty Calis, Jan Willem Nijman, Jukio Kallio & Dominik Johann.

The Last Campfire

The Last Campfire Xbox One

No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games launched The Last Campfire in August 2020 and was received well by both critics and players. In the adventure puzzle game, you play as Ember, a soul who is trapped in a strange and puzzling place and is searching for not just a way home but also a meaning. Estimates suggest that completing the game will take between five and six hours. Unfortunately, we don’t have a walkthrough or any achievement guides for The Last Campfire, so you’ll largely be in the dark on this one, but the achievement list doesn’t look too taxing.

What Remains of Edith Finch

The stonkingly good What Remains of Edith Finch is considered one of the best in the ‘walking simulator’ genre. You play as Edith, who returns back to her family home to try and unravel the mystery as to why she’s the last one of her family left alive. As you explore the house, room by room, you discover stories of how each family member passed away. There are only ten achievements, and we’ve got a fantastic walkthrough, which will help you bag the completion in just a few hours.

Candleman

candleman1

Candleman is a 3D puzzle platformer that often sees a fair bit of love in the comments of our Quick Completions articles when it crops up from time to time. You play as an anthropomorphic candle that sets out on a journey to discover its purpose. The game features a unique mechanic where you, the candle, is one of few light sources in each level, but as you’re made of wax, you can only light your wick for a combined total of 10 seconds before you melt into a puddle on the floor. It takes between four and five hours to unlock all of Candleman’s base list achievements, with most a good chunk awarded for just playing through the story. Finding all of the candles in each chapter can be a bit of a pain, but thankfully, we have a fantastic Candleman walkthrough (written by both SwelterinBeaver), which details exactly where each candle is. Candleman also has a free, easy-to-complete DLC expansion that’s worth another 500 Gamerscore. The Lost Light add-on takes between one and two hours to unlock all five of its achievements.

Wandersong

wandersong

Now, if you’re after some really easy Gamerscore, Wandersong can be completed in under two hours using a cheat code that unlocks certain scenes in the game. However, doing it this way, you’ll be missing out on an excellent platform adventure game where you play as a bard who is trying to save the world from destruction. Without the cheat code, it will probably take you around five hours to unlock all 20 of the game’s achievements.

The Procession to Calvary

procession to calvary xbox release date

If you’re after something truly unique, The Procession to Calvary has got you covered. The point-and-click adventure is self-described as a “Pythonesque adventure game made from Renaissance paintings, and a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed Four Last Things.” You play as a warrior who loves to stab things with her sword, and after a war ends, sets out on a journey to kill the leader of the south, Heavenly Peter. The Procession to Calvary’s writing is the highlight here — it’s utterly hilarious, although very, very British, so the humour may not translate well in some areas of the world. As for the achievements, despite their oblique achievement descriptions, they’re all actually pretty easy to unlock. Estimates suggest it will take between one and two hours to unlock all of the adventure game’s achievements, although you’ll probably not want to rush this one as it is a gem.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue

A serene underwater adventure, Beyond Blue serves as a fantastic palette cleanser after a particularly long or involved completion. It’s effectively a playable nature documentary, with players swimming with, tagging, and even just observing all manner of marine life. Some may find it a little too pedestrian, although the game is short enough that it’s over before it really starts to outstay its welcome — not unlike Maneater, a slightly longer and more hands-on completion, and one played more for laughs with its mockumentary approach. We don’t have a walkthrough for this one, but you shouldn’t really need one, and there are plenty of individual achievement guides should any in particular trip you up.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue takes you into the near future, where you will explore the mysteries of our ocean through the eyes of Mirai, a deep sea explorer and scientist. Become a part of a newly-formed research team using groundbreaking technologies to see, hear, and interact with the ocean in a more meaningful way than has ever been attempted. The game features an evocative narrative, exploration of an untouched world, and adventure.

Inside

Inside 2

You’re absolutely going to want a walkthrough if you’re planning on playing the superb Inside purely for achievements. They’re all missable and tied to secrets rather than progression, and while we’d suggest doing a blind playthrough on your own first — it’s the best way to experience the game — it’s obviously going to be quicker to get everything done in one run if you’re only in it for the Gamerscore. If you liked Limbo, Inside is a fantastic follow-up from Playdead… and it doesn’t have any achievements related to dying a minimal amount of times, which is always a bonus.

Genesis Noir

Genesis Noir Demo ~ TitledHeroArt

Genesis Noir is weird. Like, really weird, but then what would you expect from a noir detective game about the birth and death of the universe? With its unique and striking art style, interesting and unpredictable gameplay, and wonderful jazz soundtrack, Genesis Noir is a wild trip and one on which you’ll easily be able to grab 1,000G in just a few hours. All achievements are story related, and while there are two tied to the pair of endings, getting the one you missed is as easy as just reloading the final level and picking the other option. Give it a go while it’s on Game Pass — you’ve never played anything quite like this.

Undertale

Undertale Xbox Game Pass

Indie darling Undertale could have been a pretty rough completion had the list demanded that you go after the game’s various specific endings. Instead, it doesn’t even require you to finish the game at all. Half the achievements are for unmissable story beats, while the other half are all related to the new Dog Shrine and its slot machine — you can easily either farm cash to buy Dog Coins or save scum this part, meaning this completion shouldn’t take more than about five hours. We’d recommend sticking with it after you’ve got all the achievements, though, as there are multiple ways to see the game, and there’s plenty of awesome stuff that you won’t want to miss.
