Starfield rated R in Australia due to strong drug use
It looks like we’ll be getting as high as the sky in Bethesda’s upcoming space RPG Starfield, as the Australian Government has rated it R 18+ rating, due to the game’s strong use of drugs.
With Starfield set to touchdown on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and join the ranks of some of the best games on Game Pass in September, the Australian Classification board has now rated Bethesda’s upcoming space-faring RPG, giving it an R 18+ rating.
Starfield rated in Australia ahead of launch later this year
According to the Australian Classification website, Starfield doesn’t feature any scenes of sex, but does have mild nudity, a moderate amount of bad language, themes with a moderate impact, strong use of violence, and high drug usage. Due to the game’s use of narcotics, Starfield has been rated R 18+, meaning it has a high impact and will be restricted to adults in Australia.
After a couple of delays, Bethesda will be launching Starfield on Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6th. Our knowledge base will hopefully grow on June 11th when Bethesda host the Starfield Developer Direct after the Xbox Summer Showcase.
