Redfall launches in May to take us “beyond the realms of reality”
The Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct ended with a deep dive into Arkane’s Redfall, showing off a bunch of new gameplay and confirming a release date of May 2nd for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Today’s Developer Direct showcase gave us a closer look at several upcoming Xbox Game Studios releases, ending on Arkane and Bethesda’s Redfall. Not only did we get an extended look at the game, but we also finally got a confirmed release date — the vampire hunt will begin on May 2nd.
Redfall gets May release date for Xbox Series X|S

The town of Redfall is under siege by a legion of vampires who have cut the island off from the outside world. Trapped with a handful of survivors, slay alone or squad up in open-world FPS action.

The Bite Back Edition includes the Base Game, Redfall Hero Pass, Throwback Outfit Pack, Laser Beam multi-weapon skin and the Tactical Knife Stake attachment.
Arkane’s deep dive showed off new areas, enemies, weapons, and more, including a boss encounter with the chief vamp of one part of Redfall’s massive map, and defeating them took our four unlikely heroes one step closer to taking on the vampire gods themselves. “While you’re busy being the friendly neighborhood vampire hunter, you’ll also be gathering intel about the mysteries surrounding the island and its new vampire overlords — intel that will eventually lead you to the vampire gods controlling everything,” Bethesda’s Anne Lewis confirms. The team’s previous Far Cry comparisons from our everything we know about Redfall article make a little more sense having seen this, although there’s a lot more to it than that. We saw a little more of how Redfall wouldn’t stray too far from what Arkane does best, with some stealthy gameplay and some… well, not-so-stealthy gameplay, so you can approach each situation as you see fit. Sometimes, what choice do you have but to bring the noise?
Redfall also just hit the Xbox store, with the Bite Back edition offering a Hero Pass that unlocks two additional playable character, while interestingly, the Vampire Hunter Pack you get if you preorder the game will apparently also be made available to Game Pass players.
