Left 4 Dead 3 reference found in Counter-Strike 2 code
Players have reportedly found a reference to Left 4 Dead 3 in Counter-Strike 2’s files, adding to the ever-growing pile of rumours surrounding Valve’s ‘non-existent’ zombie shooter.
Previous rumours about Left 4 Dead 3 had suggested that Valve was already developing the zombie shooter but had put it on hold until the Souce 2 engine had been released. With Counter-Strike 2’s limited-access beta having just taken place, players have had a chance to look at the game’s files, and according to one, there is a reference to Left 4 Dead 3.
Left 4 Dead 3 reference reportedly found in Counter-Strike 2 files

As reported by GamesRadar+, a player on the Steam subreddit has found a reference to Valve’s third zombie shooter. The Counter-Strike 2 files apparently feature the above code under the title ‘Left4Dead3.’ While the “priority = none” reference is particularly amusing considering Valve’s ongoing refusal to discuss it, if authentic, it could be evidence that Valve is finally taking steps to pick up development on the franchise.
The last time we had a chance to kill zombies in Valve’s undead shooter was in 2009’s Left 4 Dead 2 on the Xbox 360. We think it’s still one of the best Xbox zombie games, but it’s understandably looking a little dated at this point, and while the original Left 4 Dead developer, Turtle Rock Studios, recently dropped its own game in the same style, Back 4 Blood, it’s not quite like the originals, and we need more Left 4 Dead in our lives.
