Hogwarts Legacy 100% completion will take “over 100 hours”

Developer Avalanche Software has revealed how long it will take to beat Hogwarts Legacy’s main storyline and to fully complete the game.

According to Avalanche Software, the wizarding world of Hogwarts Legacy will be keeping us busy for quite a while. As revealed in a new interview with Gamereactor, you’re going to need to set aside over 100 hours to see everything in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy’s main storyline is around 40 hours long

When asked about the game’s length, Hogwarts Legacy lead designer Kelly Murphy told Gamereactor: “So we are finding it is hard to put a number on, just based on playstyles. But for a first-time playthrough, if you just go through the mainline, you are looking at a 40-hour-plus experience. If you decide that you want to do everything, you are at over 100 hours, 120 hours probably.”

In an interview with ScreenRant, lead game designer Alan Tew said that his first time playing through the game for a 100% completion run, it took him over 80 hours, though Tew noted that he “understands the game really well.”

Of course, it’s likely that Tew and Murphy are not talking about these completion estimates from an achievement perspective, so earning the full 1,000G from Hogwarts Legacy could only take a fraction of that time or much longer. While we don’t have the Hogwarts Legacy achievements yet, there is a leaked Hogwarts Legacy trophy list floating around that suggests we’ll need to complete all side quests (of which there are supposedly over 100), all Merlin Trials, and find a bunch of collectables.

Hogwarts Legacy launches for Xbox Series X|S on February 10th. What are your thoughts on the game? Will you be playing this one at release? Let us know!
