Everspace 2 full release hits PC Game Pass in April, Xbox this summer

Open-world space shooter Everspace 2 will leave Game Preview and launch for PC and PC Game Pass in April, followed by an Xbox Series X|S console and Xbox Game Pass release sometime in summer 2023.

Everspace 2, which is currently available to play in PC Game Pass as a Game Preview title, now has a release date. On PC, Everspace 2 launches on April 6th, with the Xbox Series X|S version of the game coming in summer 2023. The sequel is billed as a “fast-paced single-player spaceship shooter with worthwhile exploration in space and on planets, tons of loot, RPG elements, mining, and crafting. Experience a thoughtful sci-fi story, set in a vivid, handcrafted open world full of secrets, puzzles, and perils.”

Rockfish Games says it’s currently working on bringing more enemies, rewards, equipment types, polished cinematics, new boss fights, customisation options, and more to Everspace 2 before the game’s full release. With the 1.0 release, it will take players around 30 hours to complete the main story with a “few side missions.” For completionists, you’ll be looking at more than 90 hours of playtime.

Sadly, Rockfish has cancelled the Xbox One release of the game. Those who backed the game on Kickstarter can opt for an Xbox Series X|S or a PC copy, or for a full refund.
